Manipur State Power Distribution Company Ltd (MSPDCL) on Thursday informed the general public and the consumers of MSPDCL to be wary of the hoax message which went viral on social media.
MSPDCL cautioned the consumers in a release not to fall prey to the hoax message which read, “Dear customer, your electricity power will be disconnected tonight at 9.30 pm from the electricity office because your previous month bill was not updated. Please immediately contact our electricity officer <mobile no.> Thank you”. The message went viral on social media including WhatsApp and SMS, it mentioned.
It clarified to the general public and the consumers of MSPDCL in particular, that the viral message is a hoax. It also requested the people to remain alert and not fall victim to such hoax messages being circulated by unknown miscreants.
