Even though a little late, the order for implementation of UGC 7th Pay is indeed a welcome step by the government. The committee takes pride that teachers of the constituent colleges of DMU have been participating in the year long agitation of the college teachers of Manipur for the UGC 7th Pay and Regulations, 2018 (under the banner of FEGOCTA), it stated.

The committee also expressed gratitude to the media fraternity for extensive coverage of the teacher agitations and to the students and the students’ organisations who voiced sympathy and support to the cause of the teacher in spite of the inconveniences and hardships they had to endure due to the agitation of the teachers

The Ad hoc Committee also expressed thankfulness to the parents, the guardians and most importantly the civil voluntary organisations whose voice and concern during the agitation helped in the speedy resolution of the conflict in a big way.
