Displaced people of Moreh on Tuesday condemned the state government for the death of a police officer in Moreh and alleged that the Kukis killed the officers as the government failed to deploy additional security forces in Moreh.
Relief camp inmates of the Wangjing Kodompokpi sports complex and Lamding Higher Secondary school protested along the national highway at Wangjing-Heirok Lamkhai upon hearing the news of SDPO Moreh Chingtham Anand Kumar being shot death by the Kukis in Moreh.
An inmate of Wangjing Kodompokpi sports complex, Yendrembam (o) Piyainu Leima from Moreh Ward number 7, questioned why the central forces deployed in Moreh turned a blind eye on the incident. The central forces are no longer needed in Moreh and additional state forces should be deployed instead to safeguard the properties of Meiteis, she said.
The protestors chanted various slogans.
