Director of Health Services to conduct surprise inspection

IFP IMPACT: The Manipur Health Services director has been directed to ensure all government doctors attend duties in their place of posting.

The Health department has instructed the director of Health Services to conduct a surprise inspection and ensure that private hospitals do not engage government doctors particularly Anaesthetist and to submit the first report of surprise inspections on December 2.

At this critical juncture of tackling COVID-19 pandemic it is vital that all government doctors are attending duties regularly at their place of posting and director of Health Services shall ensure that all MHS doctors are on duty in their place of posting, said an order issued by principal secretary (Health) V Vumlunmang.

Recently, the Imphal Free Press had reported on the issue of lack of specialist doctors and other hospital requirement in Tamenglong district hospital at Duigailong.

The health department also instructed the directors of RIMS and JNIMS to immediately take steps to ensure that their specialists and doctors attend duties regularly and do not indulge in private practices.

Doctors posted at COVID duties should ensure regular and proper monitoring of the COVID patients, it added.
