The Manipur government plans to install digital x-ray and Ultrasound machines at every Community Health Centre.
The announcement was made by Health Minister S Ranjan Singh on Saturday while inaugurating a Digital X-Ray facility and Barrack Type Quarter at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Khumbong.
Director Health Services Manipur Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang, SMD of NHM Manipur Dr Somorjit Ningombam, Joint Secretary Health Y Suraj Singh and President BJP Konthoujam Mandal Lalkanhai Sharma also graced the occasion as president and guests of honour respectively.
Speaking at the function Ranjan Singh said, as a pilot project Digital X-Rays will be introduced in district hospitals and other selective health centres of the state.
Digitisation of the conventional X-Ray of PHC Khumbong will now benefit the people of Khumbong and its surroundings.
There are around 53 health centres with X-Ray facilities. These centres of the state will have digitized X-Rays within the period of one year. The government is also planning to install Ultra Sound machines at the CHCs, he said.
The Minister maintained that with the advancement of medical technology a system has been set to maintain the medical records in a simpler way. Ayushman Bharat Health Account has been introduced and it will be made functional soon.
Quality check and assurance of the free diagnostic will be achieved through such a process of digitization. Affordable and accessible healthcare will also be made available as an objective of the Health Department, Minister informed.
He stated that the Government is doing its best to develop all sectors. There has been development in many sectors during the recent past. The effort of the Government is for the survival of our future. Health cards have tremendously benefited the people. It has become a boon. The Government is working day and night for the welfare of the public, the Minister added.
Later, the minister also inaugurated the Health & Wellness Centre, Heigrujam. CMO, Imphal East, Dr. L. Joykumar Singh, officials and staff of Health Department, Doctors, Nurses and staff of CHC Khumbong, ASHAs, local leaders and others also attended the inaugural occasion.
