Developmental wave clearly visible in Manipur: Tripura CM Biplab Deb in Imphal

Manipur Polls 2022: Deb is in Manipur on a two-day visit to join BJP's campaign trail for the ensuing state Assembly elections.

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Friday arrived in Imphal to campaign for BJP candidates ahead of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Elections.


Taking to Twitter, the Tripura CM said that the wave of development is clearly visible in the state, while adding that the people of the state are ready to give another tenure to the BJP-led government.

"The wave of the developmental is clearly visible in the state and people of  Manipur are ready to give another tenure to the double engine government led by Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji and CM Shri @NBirenSingh ji," Deb tweeted.

Campaigning for BJP candidate for Saiton, Kumbi Mandal, S Premchandra Singh Deb claimed that blockades and insurgency were main hurdles of the development of Manipur when N Biren Singh was elected as the chief minister of the state. 

"Rs 2,000 crore was the annual expenditure to control insurgency. But the double engine government focused on eradicating these issues and ensured peace in the region," the Tripura chief minister claimed, while adding that the money which was earlier being spent on controlling insurgency is now being used for the holistic development of the people of Manipur. 

"It opened up ample opportunities for commerce, trade and employment," Deb said.

Deb assured that if CM N Biren is re-elected, the government led by CM Biren government will provide two free gas cylinders to Ujjawala beneficiaries, girls from economically weaker sections will get a Rs 25,000 incentive and female college students will also get free scooters, Deb said.

The Tripura CM also expressed hope that the BJP-led government will be re-elected in the state.

"Tripura and Manipur share deep-rooted cultural ties and I am fortunate to receive the immense affection & blessings of the people of Manipur. Their affection indicates a big win for @BJP4Manipur in the upcoming assembly elections," Deb said in another tweet.

Earlier in the day, the Tripura CM said he was overwhelmed by the warm welcome by the party Karyakartas.

"Reached Imphal, Manipur, ahead of the assembly polls to campaign for the @BJP4Manipur candidates. Overwhelmed by the warm welcome by @BJP4Manipur karyakartas, their enthusiasm gives us the energy to strengthen the organisation and serve the people," Deb tweeted.

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb is in Manipur on a two-day visit to the state to join BJP's campaign trail for the ensuing state Assembly elections. The Tripura CM will return on Saturday.  

Tripura BJP MP and Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik has been campaigning for the party extensively in the poll-bound state.

Manipur will go to polls in two phases on February 28 and March 5 for the election to the 60-member state Legislative Assembly.
