The two women were on their way for the COVID-19 screening test to board the Shramik train from Delhi to Jiribam, the students' organisation said in a statement. The miscreants even tried to beat up the two Northeast women, it stated.

The incident took place early morning when they were waiting for a Taxi near Ganganath Mandir (New Delhi), it added.

The Rongmei Chamnac Phwam Delhi (RCPD) and Rongmei Phwam Delhi (RPD) strongly condemn the act and request the authority concerned to take action against the miscreants, it stated.

“We also appeal the Rongmei people in particular and the Northeast people, in general, to take care of their belongings as there could be more miscreants lurking around to loot people as there may be desperate people around in the situation,” it added.
