The Moyon Naga Council (BAP), Moyon Women Organisation (BSR) and the Moyon Naga Students’ Union (TTBR) has condoled the sudden demise of Upa Dearson David Charii Moyon, who passed away at the age of 67, on July 6, 2022 at Jalukie, Nagaland.

To honour and pay our respect to the departed leader, the Moyon Tribe President Chinir Francis Moyon declared five days of mourning with the tribe’s flag flown at half-mast from July 7, 2022.

Prayers and fond memories are what we remember of our dearly departed, Jireh Moyon, Information and Publicity Secretary, Bujuur Aanchung Puh (BAP) stated in a press release.
Dearson began his social activism at a very early age and rendered his lifelong service to various social organisations. Some of the notable organisations where he dedicated his services are as president of Moyon Naga Students’ Union (TTBR); assistant joint general secretary of Naga Students’ Association, Manipur; general secretary of ANSAM; speaker of ANSAM; president of ANSAM; secretary of UNC; was founding member of NSUC and committee member on restoration of normalcy initiated by CM of Manipur during Naga-Kuki conflict in 1993-1994.
His funeral rite was conducted by Rev Fr Joseph Haomuonlian, assistant parish priest of St Paul’s Parish at his village, Kapaam, Chandel and was attended by dignitaries from various organisations across the state and beyond, the BAP informed.
