With an objective to awaken the zeal of humanitarian service and aid to people in distress, alumni of Don Bosco High School, Imphal (2010-11 batch) donated several relief materials to inmates of Moirang Konjengbam Leikai Relief Camp on Tuesday.
The alumni donated vital relief materials for the winter season which included blankets, clothes, food and other essential items.
Members of the 2010-11 batch alumni highlighted that the alumni members had planned to donate the relief material to extend necessary aid to inmates taking shelter at the relief camp.
“It is a primal instinct to help people during times of great distress and hardship. It is essential to reach out to those in need during difficult times and exhort them to carry their lives forward with zeal and determination,” said Ronaldo Laishram, a member of the alumni.
The members highlighted that every member of the alumni pooled in all the necessary items on short notice and stated that all the items were donated in light of the coming winter season.
“Winter in Manipur is harsh and we sympathise with the feelings of the people at the relief camp. Although we cannot resolve all the needs of the inmates, we have donated some items which we think would be beneficial during the winter,” said Menkhomba Angom, another member of the alumni.
Altogether around 20 members of the alumni took part in the distribution of relief materials at the Moirang Konjengbam Leikai Relief Camp.
