Daily COVID-19 death toll drops to six, positive cases 4,355 in India

The new cases pushed India's cumulative COVID-19 active cases down to 829, which accounted for 0.2 per cent of the country's total positive cases so far.

A total of 4355 COVID-19 positive cases, 5178 new recoveries and six deaths were reported in India in the last 24 hours, official sources said on Tuesday.

According to the Union Health Ministry's 8 am data, the new cases pushed the cumulative COVID-19 active cases down to 829, which accounted for 0.2 per cent of the country's total positive cases so far.

India's total confirmed caseload has reached 4,45,02,363, total recovered cases 4,39,30,417, and the death toll rose to 5,28,185 as on Tuesday.

So far, 88,99,43,859 total samples have been tested and 2,15,47,80,693 total vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive in the country. Over 4.06 crore first dose vaccines have been administered to children in the age group 12-14 years.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate currently is 98.71 per cent, weekly positivity rate is 1.73 per cent and the daily positivity rate is reported to be 1.25 per cent.

Among all states and Union Territories in India, Kerala recorded highest number of COVID-19 active cases at 11,196.
