The Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi district and the civil bodies on Friday stated that they consider the present trend of posting and transfer officials from Kangpokpi District 'highly disturbing' and demand the state government to redress their grievances at the earliest.

Annoyed with the alleged frequent posting and transfer of officials at various departments in the district, a press conference under the aegis of Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi district was held this Friday afternoon at KSO Sadar Hills administrative office building in Kangpokpi district headquarters.

General secretary, Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi district Thangminlen Kipgen said that the Kuki Inpi and civil bodies of Kangpokpi district consider the current trend of transfer and posting in the district highly disturbing as it has always been suffering from inadequacy and insufficiency, in the sense that the shortage of manpower in term of District Administration has never been addressed.

He asserted that the people of Kangpokpi are now fed up with such step motherly treatment of the district and finally decided that each vacant post shall be individually filled up by a single and capable officer within a week.

He also said that if their demands are not met at the earliest, they will denounce the recent transfer and posting orders of the five MCS officers and we will not allow the transfer of the ADC/ADM Kangpokpi to leave the district without being provided a replacement.

The Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi and the civil voluntary organisations of the district also warned that if the demands are not meet within a week to either fill the vacant posts individually or revoke the recent transfer and posting orders of the five MCS officers on Wednesday, they will resort to various form of agitations.

It is the fact that the district tends to keep losing manpower day by day as no replacement has been made so far to any officials transferred out from the district while the transfer order keeps happening, he added.

He recalled that in the recent transfer and posting order of five MCS officers in the district, the ADC/ADM who also held the post of SDO/BDO Kangpokpi in addition, had to leave the district without any replacement; rather the four other MCS officers transferred and posted within the District are given additional charges or posts so as to filled the vacant posts.

He continued that this is not the first time but it has become an 'unwanted trend' in the district that transfer orders are made to certain government officials without any replacement.

He further recalled that the district immunisation officer was given the post of in-charge chief medical officer to fill the vacant post of CMO after the former CMO was transferred to Kamjong on January 27 and no replacement has been made so far.

Similarly, in the recent transfer and posting of the five MCS officers, Lalramsang Infimate, MCS, ADC/ADM Kangpokpi and SDO/BDO Kangpokpi in addition was transferred and posted as joint secretary (Economics and Statistic/Relief and DM/Sericulture) causing vacancy to the post of ADC/ADM Kangpokpi and SDO/BDO Kangpokpi, he said.

However, it was designed to fill the vacant post of ADC/ADM Kangpokpi without any replacement as the SDO/BDO Bungte Chiru N Johnson Meetei, MCS was transferred and posted as ADC/ADM Kangpokpi with additional charge of SDO/BDO Saitu Gamphazol while the SDO/BDO Saitu Gamphazol Subinson Sapam, MCS was transferred and posted as SDO/BDO Saikul.

Then, the other vacant post of SDO/BDO Kangpokpi was given to T Shyamkumar Singh, MCS with his previous post SDC/BO, DC Kangpokpi as additional charge.

Many other important posts lying vacant such as SDO/BDO Champhai, SDO/BDO T Waichong, SDO/BDO Island and SDO/BDO Lhungtin were filled by one person like the ADC/ADM and SDO/BDO Kangpokpi was filled by a single person, he added.
