The government continued to extend the relaxation in day curfew on Saturday (August 26) in Imphal West and Imphal East districts, stating "considerable improvement" in law and order situation in the state.
According to the latest notifications issued on Friday by the respective district magistrates, curfew has been relaxed in all areas of both districts from 5 am to 6 pm to facilitate the general public in procurement of essential items, including food and medicines.
It further mentioned that movement of persons belonging to essential services such as health, electricity, PHED, petrol pumps, schools/colleges, municipality, power (MSPDCL/MSPCL), press and electronic media, functioning of courts and to and fro movement of flight passengers to the airport will be exempted from the imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of relaxation.
