Crackdown on Vehicle Lifters: Four stolen vehicles recovered

The accused managed to escape from his house during the raid, sources said.

Thoubal District Police have recovered four stolen vehicles in a raid conducted on Tuesday, as a part of the crackdown on vehicle lifters by Anti Vehicle Theft Cell, Manipur under ADGP (Law and Order) Clay Khongsai and IGP(Z-I) Themthing.

As per sources, following a tip-off about stolen vehicles being kept concealed in the house of one Ayaz Khan alias AAK ,51, son of late Nazimuddin, a resident of Moijing Wangmataba Makha Leikai,Thoubal district, teams of Thoubal commando under the supervision of SP Thoubal Jogeshchandra Haobijam, raided the house of Ayaz Khan at 2:30 pm.

The accused managed to escape from his house during the raid, sources said.

After a thorough search of his house, the four stolen vehicles were found in the courtyard. They are one black Swiss 125 without registration number; one Black KTM RC Bike with green panel without registration number; one Honda Dio Blue in Colour with registration number MN04B6725 and one Activa Grey in colour, without registration number and partly disassembled, sources said.

A case has been registered at Thoubal Police station and efforts are still on to nab the accused.
