Crackdown on Vehicle Lifters: Arrests continue, seven more vehicles recovered

Manipur police arrested three more vehicle lifters on Sunday.

Manipur police have recovered as many as seven stolen vehicles and made arrests of three more vehicle lifters on Sunday, in continuation of its crackdown on vehicle lifters, initiated to counter the increase of vehicle thefts in the last few months.  

The arrested vehicle lifters have been identified as one Md Mujib Khan,25 , son of Mohammad Khan of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai; Md Nawaz Khan, 20, son of late Nashir Khan of Lilong Mayai Leikai and Amom Sanamacha, 32, son of A Yumjao Singh of Wangoo Heinoujam Leikai.

A Suzuki Gixxer, without registration number; a Royal Enfield bullet Metal black in colour without registration number; another Royal Enfield Bullet black in colour bearing registration number MN03B-9001 having Chassis number ME343S5F122197367(suspected to be tampered); one Yamaha Fascino grey in colour having registration number MN02G-4804 with Chassis No MEISED1X6K0046888.(suspected to be tampered); one Jawa bike blue in colour having registration number MN03S-0882 with Chassis No. MZDKW1C1621240786.(suspected to be tampered); one Activa 6G blue in colour having registration number MN06SE-1591(suspected to be tampered) and one steel silver colour Kia Seltos Car without registration number were seized from their possession.

Meanwhile, Senapati district police recovered six stolen vehicles, including an excavator in the last one month.

In the last month one Bolero pick up veering registration number AS25EC-0188 was recovered on April 10; another Bolero pick up bearing registration number AS26C-5317 was recovered on March 27; one Trailer vehicle bearing registration number JH02AF-5945 including 1 Excavator were recovered on April 13; one Innova bearing registration number AS01DL-3656 on April 15 and one Swift Dzire (white colour) bearing registration number AS01EY-6764 was also recovered on April 26.
