The occasion was attended by general secretary Tamil Sangam KBS Maniam, vice president Tamil Sangam Thillakhan and vice president Kamal Kant as dais members.

In his speech, KBS Maniam said that in connection with the state government order dated 31 October 31, a local COVID-19 awareness programme should be organised at the local level. The Tamil Sangam Moreh also organised the programme as per the order, he said.

He also spoke on means to tackle and control the COVID 19 pandemic. He laid emphasis on everyone wearing face masks properly at public places, using hand sanitisers or frequent washing of hands with soaps and social distancing of six feet.

The programme was attended by youths, leaders and women organisations of Tamil community.
