CoTU to celebrate I-Day in Kangpokpi

According to the CoTU, the grand celebration will be held under the aegis of its defence department where all other departments under CoTU and the Kuki-Zo people will take part in the celebration of the national event.

The Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU) Sadar Hills, Kangpokpi District has decided to celebrate the Independence Day with the Kuki-Zo volunteers in the grandest manner though they are not happy with the remarks of UHM Amit Shah in the parliament.

According to the CoTU, the grand celebration will be held under the aegis of its defence department where all other departments under CoTU and the Kuki-Zo people will take part in the celebration of the national event.

CoTU Media Cell member, Janghaolun Haokip said that the Committee has decided to join the nation in the celebration of India's Independence Day and appealed to the Kuki-Zo people to join the celebration.

Following its decision to celebrate Independence Day, CoTU also put up the tricolours inside and outside of its office at Brig. M. Thomas ground and also on their vehicles.

The tricolours are also seen fluttering along the National Highway in Kangpokpi town as the Kuki-Zo youths put up the national flag alongside the national highway though there was a mixed response in putting up the tricolours from citizens of the town owing to the Home Minister's recent remark in Parliament.
