Consultative meeting calls for educated representatives

Young and educated politicians or representatives were strongly called upon during a public consultative meeting held in connection with the upcoming general election 2022 under Saikul assembly constituency at Saikul village community hall on Wednesday.

The consultative meeting organised by civil bodies of Saikul was attended by various chiefs, organisation leaders, village authority members, youths, and women across Saikul assembly constituency.

Opinions, ideas, and thoughts in connection with the upcoming 2022 General Assembly Election were shared and discussed during the meeting by the congregate.

It has now become very important to have young and educated political leaders in Saikul for a better future as the assembly constituency needs political leaders who are vocal and dare to fight for the rights of the people, opined former ADC Sadar Hills member Thangkam Lupheng.

 He also said that a representative who is aware of the power and functions of an MLA in the assembly and the procedures of the house itself is needed. “We need a representative who knows well about the various Acts and Rights enshrined in the Constitutions which protect and preserve the tribal rights,” he added.

Many other prominent leaders from Saikul assembly constituency also spoke on the occasion sharing their opinion of choosing a young leader.

Spokesperson of CSO Saikul Haochinlen Kilong said that the people of Saikul now want to give the space and responsibilities to younger politicians to take the assembly constituency ahead with their vision and energy as disclosed and shared during the consultative meeting.
