Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) general secretary Kh Debabrata on Wednesday announced that the Congress will defeat the BJP in the coming election with majority seats as the single largest party by fielding INC candidates in the entire 60 assembly constituencies.
He was speaking at the launching ceremony of the election manifesto and poster campaign of Indian National Congress (INC) intending candidate Achoibam Deben at Lamlai bazar on Wednesday.
Debabrata told the media that the major political rivals in the coming state legislative assembly election will be Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), National People’s Party (NPP) and Naga People Front (NPF) in hill districts. However, the Congress party will win the election with a majority seat, he asserted.

He said BJP has been shouting that they brought a change in the state and alleging that the then Congress government failed to bring any during its tenure. “Since the BJP led coalition came to the state, has the government been able to produce any fact findings on the ‘Loktak Scandal’ or able to produce any findings of various CBI cases that have been continuing in the state?” he questioned.
To free the people from the BJP government, which prioritises on suppressing the weaker communities with major communities, and bring a democratic rule of law in the state, the Congress government as the single largest party will return in the coming state legislative assembly election, he asserted.
He assured that MPCC will press the Central leaders of the party to give the INC ticket to Achoibam Deben in the coming election. MPCC will be supporting the vision of Deben mentioned in his election manifesto after he is elected as representative of Lamlai assembly constituency, he said.
As a part of the function, Achoibam Deben in presence with Debabrata launched a motor rally at Lamlai bazar. The rally covered the entire area of Lamlai assembly constituency and delivered the posters and election manifesto to the people of the assembly constituency.
