Condemning the repeated summoning of seniors of All India Congress Committee (AICC), Khundrakpam Block Congress Committee, Khundrakpam Block Mahila Congress Committee and Khundrakpam Youth Congress Committee jointly staged a sit in protest at Sagolmang Keithel on Monday.

Addressing media at the sidelines of the protest, secretary of Khundrakpam Block Congress Committee, BK Nandeibam, said that repeated summoning of AICC leaders in connection with the National Herald case is unfortunate. It seems they are doing it intentionally under the supervision of the NDA government, he alleged.

He further alleged that with the deterioration of their strength, the NDA government has lost all their confidence of winning the Lok Sabha election which is going to be held in 2024. As strategies to get political mileage, they are charging senior leaders of AICC, he said.

The NDA government has been in power for the past eight years but instead of taking up welfare activities, they are looting people’s money by charging huge amounts of GST, he alleged.

With the advent of this government, people continue to suffer and have failed to enjoy their rights. Besides this, the economic condition of the country has been worsening each year and there is huge disparity between rich and poor, he added.
