Former Zeliangrong Union Tamenglong zone chairman Dingsung Pamei breathed his last on Thursday. He was 74. Several civil society groups and individuals poured in heartfelt condolences on the sudden demise of the former Zeliangrong leader.
Zeliangrong Union Tamenglong zone said that the untimely demise of Dingsung Pamei is a great loss for the Zeliangrong community.
Dingsung Pamei was born and brought up at Dailong village, Tamenglong district, Manipur. Pamei, who resided at Chingkhiulong Ward No V before he passed away, served and contributed greatly for the Taudai Fellowship, Tamenglong. He served the Zeliangrong people from 1998 as executive member of Zeliangrong Union Tamenglong zone, served as vice chairman Zeliangrong Union Tamenglong zone, Chairman Zeliangrong Union Tamenglong zone and vice president Zeliangrong Union Assam Manipur and Nagaland.
Dingsung Pamei also worked as coordinator of Haipou Jadonang and Rani Gaidainliu Death Anniversary Committee. He also served as convenor of the Committee Against Anti Social Elements Tamenglong district. He worked as chairman of Dailong village Co-Authority Tamenglong headquarters and also worked as a member of Naga scripts. He also served as president of the teacher’s association Tamenglong district.
In a condolence message, Autonomous District Council Teachers’ Association Tamenglong expressed deep shock and sorrow on the sudden demise of Pamei, who was also former president, Autonomous District Council Teachers’ Association Tamenglong.
The association said that Dingsung Pamei had served for the welfare of the teaching community from 1987-89. The association extended deepest sympathies to the bereaved family.
Zeliangrong Women Union Tamenglong zone and Haipou Jadonang and Rani Gaidainliu death anniversary Committee also extended heartfelt condolences.
“We shared the grief and pain of the bereaved family and prayed to the Almighty God to bless them during this hard time. May his soul rest in Peace,” stated secretary Zeliangrong Union Tamenglong Aphian Gonmei.
Chingkhiulong Ward No V authority G Namrong also extended heartfelt condolences on the demise.
Late Dingsung Pamei is survived by his wife, five sons, one daughter and 23 grandchildren. His funeral was conducted at his residence in Tamenglong HQ on Thursday.
