The RK Maipaksana Memorial Trust has selected Columnist of a local daily, Kakchingtabam Gunachandra for the RK Maipaksana journalist fellowship 2023.
The Board of Trustee after careful consideration and recommendation selected Gunachandra for the fellowship, stated a release issued on Thursday.
The fellowship contains cash of Rs 3,000 per month and will be given to Gunachandra for one year, it stated. During his fellowship tenure, Gunachandra will work in seven areas selected by the trust and must publish at least two feature articles/news stories etc. in a month, it said.
The fellowship will be handed over during the upcoming 99th birth anniversary of RK Maipaksana to be observed at Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal on Wednesday, it mentioned.
It added that head of Biostatistics, RIMS, professor RK Narendra Singh will deliver a lecture on ‘Demographic Profile of Manipur: Particular reference to Scheduled Tribes’ as part of the ‘RK Maipaksana Memorial Lecture’ programme which will be held as part of the observation.
