The Coordination Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) on Sunday informed that the public emergency imposed in public places such as schools, colleges and markets have been temporarily withdrawn.
COCOMI Coordinator, Yumkhaibam Surjitkumar Khuman, in a release, recalled the unprecedented unfortunate drone bombing attack that occurred in state on September 1 at Koutruk and Kadangband, killing and injuring many including state forces.
It vehemently condemned the recent rocket bombing again by Chin Kuki Narco Terrorist at Moirang Bazar and Tronglaobi on Friday, killing an innocent civilian and injuring others. COCOMI stated that the public emergency was imposed to prevent mass casualties in case such a similar attack occurs.
It maintained that the move to withdraw the imposition was taken following appeal from various bodies and associations to withdraw the same in view of ongoing examinations in schools and colleges.
It noted that closure of markets have impacted the day-to-day lives of the people reeling under the conflict, especially the daily bread earners. Following the same, the committee resolved to withdraw the imposition, it added.
It further appealed to all those in the red zone areas to stay alert and vigilant at all times. COCOMI also advised the schools, colleges and market places in the red zone areas to be careful and aware of the tense situation.
