The coordinating body of 12 valley-based organisations appealed to the Coordinating Committee of Manipur (COCOMI) to end the boycott against the state government, stating that issues can be solved jointly with the state and CSOs.
Speaking to the media at Manipur Press Club on Monday, spokesperson of the coordinating body Thoidingjam Ibohal said that as many as 12 valley-based organisations of Manipur appeal to the COCOMI to end the boycott.
As the unrest in Manipur continues since its outbreak on May 3, boycotting the state government will lead to misunderstandings, he said.
“We understand that COCOMI boycotted the state government in the interest of the general public. However, imposing a lengthy boycott during such a complex situation may rather interrupt in problem solving,” he said.
Big organisations like the COCOMI, AMUCO, FOCS should join hands together with the state government and work together for a better solution in the future, he added.
