COCOMI in a press release, highlighted that the ongoing unrest in Manipur stems from the activities of the Chin Narco Terrorists, and maintained that the central government cannot overlook this critical issue.

The committee urged the state and central government to proceed with border fencing in Kuki inhabited areas to curb the influx of foreign immigrants and address underlying concerns. COCOMI argued that the decision to halt fencing in these regions suggests that the central government is not committed to resolving the core issues.

COCOMI further called for the immediate implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Manipur and the withdrawal of Assam Rifles from the state.

It also warned for intensified resolutions against the central government if fencing in Kuki dominated areas is not expedited and if Assam Rifles remain stationed in the state, it mentioned.
