COCOMI calls on MLAs, employees to join rally

The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) is all set to conduct a mass rally in Imphal on Friday.

The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) on Thursday extended an invitation to all sections of the society, including ministers, MLAs, government employees, and the general public, to participate in the mass rally scheduled for Friday in Imphal. 

The rally is part of a larger movement aimed at addressing the ongoing challenges and unrest in the region.

The event will commence at THAU Ground in Thangmeiband from 9 am and conclude at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.

Although a specific route for the rally has yet to be finalised, organisers are confident that the turnout will be significant.

The rally has been dubbed "the walk to save Manipur", highlighting the urgency and importance of the cause.

Leirik Leima, the coordinator of COCOMI's Women Wing, spoke to the media at the organisation's office in Imphal, emphasising the critical situation in Manipur. 

She reiterated that the state has been facing severe hardships for the past 14 months due to aggression by Kuki Narco-Terrorists.

With a clear and inclusive voice, she urged the participants from every household in the state to join the rally.

"Let's together take the responsibility to save Manipur," Leima implored. 

She further clarified that the rally is scheduled to conclude before noon, ensuring minimal disruption to daily activities. 

Additionally, there will be no ceasework imposed during the event, allowing participants to join without affecting their professional commitments, she clarified.
