Commanding officer of 7th Manipur Rifles Watham Basu on Wednesday inspected its personnel deployed at Kadangband and Koutruk area which is located at the border district of Imphal West and Kangpokpi district.
Combined security forces, including Manipur Rifles, are being deployed in various vulnerable areas of the state ever since the prevailing turmoil erupted in Manipur. Kadangband and Koutruk are among the vulnerable spots where frequent gun battles occur between combined forces and Kuki militants.
To protect the villagers and prevent unwanted incidents, the personnel of 7th Manipur Rifles have been deployed at vulnerable areas. The combined forces have been safeguarding the villagers during various gunfights resulting from attacks by Kuki militants.
Besides the inspection, CO 7th MR, Watham Basu also interacted with the villagers and allayed their fears, assuring that his personnel are deployed in the area for the safeguard of the villagers.
Basu also inspected each of the personnel about their health issues and others, and instructed them to perform their duty properly. He said personnel of 7th MR have been securing the government offices, villages and villagers from unwanted incidents.
