The Chandel Naga People’s Organisation (CNPO) has warned heads of institutions and relevant departments in Chandel district for corrupt practices, stating that despite various warnings, the remnants were still present.
The CNPO stated in a release that the organisation and its units are disturbed by the corrupt and dubious practices of administrations and delivery of services in the district.
The Naga Students’ Union had, time and again, warned and dealt with some outright corrupt officers in the past, however, the remnants are still prominent, the CNPO added.
The apex body of the Nagas in Chandel also stated that, from 2018 onwards, JNV Chandel have been in connivance with corrupt parents from outside the district, to admit their children against the rules laid down by the ALL INDIA JNV - Administration.
“The administration of JNV Chandel need to conclude the admission issue as per the committee’s recommendation under the chairmanship of the Chandel Deputy Commissioner who had also befittingly responded to the queries of JNV Commissioner Shillong citing the laid down criteria of JNV”, the CNPO stated.
The organisation further stated that while it understands that the interest of children’s education is paramount to the institutions, the administration cannot afford to take admissions through dubious means which would instil a wrong message to the young children.
JNV administration should immediately draw the line and never repeat the flaws again, it warned.
