The chief minister appealed to the people to vote for their party candidates from all six assembly constituencies under Churachandpur and Pherzawl district. He further urged the people to work together while not forgetting the peace and development made in the last five years. He further appealed to the people to give a clear mandate and not a coalition government “which has been difficult to maintain.”

For the BJP candidates of Churachandpur assembly constituency, he said that as a senior leader of the state, he came to give them his full support.

The people should not forget what happened 336 days before they came to power in 2017, referring to the martyrdom of nine tribal individuals, for which the issue was resolved. He said that under the BJP government, there has been no repetition of such incidents. The security force has respected the people, he further said, claiming that BJP is a secular party as shown by the deferment of election date to a day other than Sunday by ECI.

He said that politics should be practical and connect with people. He further highlighted the developments made under the leadership of Prime minister of India such as the increase of water supply from 5.7 per cent to 64 per cent in the last five years. He announced that the only Medical College in the Hills of Manipur will soon become functional in Churachandpur district. He also mentioned the installation of two existing oxygen plants in Churachandpur district, and stressed that no bandhs or blockades had been witnessed.

Meanwhile, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) state president also hoisted the party Flag at the office of its candidate from Saikot assembly constituency Dr George T Haokip located at S Canaan Veng. He said that their candidate was the lone candidate from Churachandpur district and was chosen based on his determination and belief in secularism as his winning chance.

He said that their candidates do not believe in a particular community but stand for all communities, and this has been the principle of NCP which will contest in eight assembly constituencies. He appealed to the people to vote for their candidate at Saikot assembly constituency.
