CM Biren extends greetings to people of Manipur on 50th Statehood Day

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that his government is committed to make Manipur a role model of all-round progress in the country.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh extended his greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Statehood which falls on Friday.

“The attainment of statehood on January 21, 1972 was a landmark in the history of our people... It fulfilled a long cherished dream to empower ourselves to shape our own destiny within the framework of the Constitution of India. Since then we have had an eventful journey of progress and development. We have ably emerged as a powerhouse of games and sports. Government is committed to make Manipur a role model of all-round progress in the country,” he stated.

“On this day, let us resolve to work relentlessly towards building a progressive and peaceful Manipur. Let us also pledge to foster greater sense of brotherhood among all communities,” he added.
