Manipur Chief Minister on Saturday said that construction, renovation and extension of 21 grounds are underway at Kuilong Area, Tamei Sub-Division, in an effort to deliver promises to the people of the state. He said the ongoing development works will be completed before Christmas in keeping with his promises made during his visit to the village in December 2021.
“As I promised during my visit last year, construction, renovation, and extension of 21 grounds are underway at Kuilong Area, Tamei Sub-Division. All grounds are to be completed before Christmas. People desire delivery over promises. The objective of the government is to cater to public needs and convenience,” Biren said in a Facebook post.

Kuilong falls under Tamei sub division in Tamenglong district, Manipur. The latitude and longitude of Kuilong is roughly 25.354870 and 93.776520 (GPS coordinates: 25°N 93°E). And, there is no centrally run educational centre or state run mini-health centre in the entire area.
Biren visited Kuilong-I, on December 4, 2021 as a part of an outreach programme which aimed to provide welfare services to the people’s doorstep. It was organised by the District Administration, Tamenglong.
During the visit, he had announced that one ground would be developed in each village as an incentive under chief minister’s Green Manipur Mission. He also said that bringing infrastructure development in the interior portion of the state at par with the valley region would foster good relations and respect among different communities.
Biren had then assured that the state government would send a proposal to the Centre for upgrading the road from Kangpokpi to Tamei and Tamei to Kuilong for better connectivity.
The chief minister also assured that the office of the sub deputy collector at Kuilong will be made functional soon and would be upgraded to Office of the sub divisional officer if necessary.
He informed that building construction for the Primary Health Sub-Centre would be completed soon and a wellness centre would also be made functional in addition.
CM Biren said that a proposal for setting up of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Kuilong had been sent and also added that the government would try to set up a 33/11 KV Sub-station at Kuilong. He also assured that he would take up all other necessary programmes for development of the district.
Informing about various welfare schemes of the government during the December visit, N Biren asked the people of Kuilong to avail the benefits of the schemes as certain government departments had set up stalls to provide services during the outreach programme.
