As the constituent women vendor organisations of Khwairamband Ima Keithel had announced to reopen the three markets including temporary markets from Monday, a cleanliness drive was conducted at the surroundings of the three markets and temporary market on Saturday.
The cleanliness drive was taken part by personnel from Manipur Fire Service, IMC, women vendors and NGOs.
The markets were close down since the month of April due to pandemic as high cases of COVID-19 were reported including deaths by the fourth month of this year. During the pandemic, more than 20 women vendors had succumbed to COVID-19.
On Monday, floral tributes will be paid to the portraits of women vendors who succumbed to COVID-19 before the opening of the markets at 8 am.
