The all-important IB road that was made around January of this year and was prided as the first Cement Concrete Road (CCR) of the district was dismantled on Saturday by the order of the concerned MLA LM Khaute.
The order came as the road was built with substandard materials, giving way within a month and creating untold mystery to commuters as there are potholes and was very dusty since the substandard sand and cement turned into powder.

The road was built under PMGSY and was important as the one-way traffic rule means that it handled traffic as heavy as the Tiddim Road. MLA Khaute said that as the road would not last due to poor quality, he had ordered it to be dismantled and said that he would black-topped it under the same scheme.
In view of the development, traffic police had redrawn the traffic map and hence, those vehicles who ply via the IB road will now be channelled through the nearby Thangzam road which includes all those vehicles like Wingers and Buses heading to Imphal and beyond.
The MLA of Churachandpur AC said that he plans to make the IB Road as best as he could due to its importance and called for cooperation and support to the construction workers from all the people.
