Churachandpur Medical College, surrounding areas declared 'No Fly Zone for Drone and UAV' on January 6

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the Churachandpur Medical College on January 6.

In view of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Manipur on January 6, the district magistrate of Churachandpur has issued additional security measures that are required to be put in place.

In an order, the district magistrate stated that the Superintendent of Police, Churachandpur has also recommended declaring the areas around Churachandpur Medical College and the whole route to be taken by the Union Home Minister from Helipad, 36 AR, Hq. Veng through IB Road, Tipaimukh road (from Churachandpur College to Police Station and Tiddim Road (from Police Station to Kangvai) on January 6 as a "No-fly zone for drones and UAVs".

Therefore, Churachandpur Medical College and surrounding areas and the whole route to be taken by the Union Home Minister has been notified as a "No Fly Zone for Drone and UAV” from 6 am of January 6 till the time of departure of the Home Minister.

The district magistrate has also notified that all unattended vehicles and construction materials piled up, if any, along the above mentioned route should be cleared by the person/owner concerned on or before 3 pm of January 5.

During his visit, Amit Shah would inaugurate projects worth over Rs 300 crore and lay the foundation stones for projects worth around Rs 1,000 crore.

Among the Rs 300-crore projects, the home minister will be inaugurating the Olympian Park, Sangaithel, Imphal West where the statues of 19 Olympians of Manipur are installed in honour of their contribution to sports.

Amit Shah will also inaugurate the Churachandpur Medical College, 120 feet tall statue of Polo constructed at Marjing hill, Heingang, Imphal East and others.

During the visit to the state, the home minister will also lay the foundation stones for projects costing over Rs 1,000 crore projects.
