Churachandpur DC visits IDPs in Singngat

The DC distributed relief materials including blankets, soaps, sanitary pads, and other toiletries to the displaced people of about 270 persons.

Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur District Dharun Kumar S visited internally displaced persons currently sheltered in St. Joseph School Relief Camp, Singngat on Thursday.

The DC distributed relief materials including blankets, soaps, sanitary pads, and other toiletries to the displaced people of about 270 persons staying in the relief camp.

He also made a spot assessment of the model residential school on the way to Singngat and the under constructed bridge at Maukot Village, Singngat sub-division.

Interacting with the IDPs, the DC stated that difficulties faced in the relief camps need to be addressed. Thanking Father Mung for his considerate care of the IDPs in St Joseph School and planning to shift the relief camp to a better place, he urged the people to contact Father Mung or the SDO for any issues faced in the relief camp.

Saving the lives of the people and providing immediate support of the affected population becomes the priority and the District Administration has left nothing to chance to ensure uninterrupted supply of basic needs to the public, particularly rice.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Thangboi Gangte, ADC, S Khaikhopau Ngaihte, ADC (Dev.) Samuel Lhungdim, SDO/BDO, Singngat and Suangdoh, Father Mung of St Thomas Parish, Singngat and other officers from the District Administration.
