A consultative meeting with civil voluntary organisations of Churachandpur was held on Friday at Simte Inn, Simveng, Churachandpur district and it was resolved to boycott ‘Go to Hills 2.0’ until the HAC recommended Manipur (Hill Areas) Autonomous District Councils Bill, 2021 is tabled in a special session of Manipur Legislative Assembly.

The meeting was initiated by All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) led by its president Pautinthang Lupheng.

A joint declaration was made during the meeting to discuss the HAC recommended ADC Bill 2021 with the CVOs and that the state government should convene a special session of Manipur Legislative Assembly to table the ‘bill’.

The reason for withdrawal of Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker’s orders was declared unacceptable as it was against the ‘Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business’ in the Manipur Legislative Assembly and Article 371C.
