MLA Ginsuanhau, who was the chairman of state level Kut festival, said that the state no longer celebrates Kut at state level due to COVID-19 pandemic and so it was organised in the district.

Mentioning the song ‘We Are Not Separable By Any Means', he said, “what has divided us in the past, should end with Kut.”

Kut festival is not meant for a particular single community but it is for all, he added while lauding KSO Singngat for involving different communities like Zou, Paige, Meetei, Naga, Kuki and others as the distinguished guests of the event.

The MLA highlighted his works as chairman for the celebration of state level Kut for five consecutive years as till 2016. He also mentioned the developmental works that he initiated in Singngat assembly constituency under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh.

“What is most important is love and I believe in development through love and care. The Kut festival signifies love which I consider as my wealth,” said Ginsuanhau.

Prior to attending the Kut festival, the MLA in a simple function reimbursed admission fees of Rs 2.5 lakh to the parents of 65 students who were admitted at various higher secondary schools at Lamka town, as a new higher secondary school has been set up at Singngat for economically weaker families.

Namlalung Gangmei expressed his gratitude to the organisers in celebrating Kut after a gap of a year due to the pandemic.

“The festival is a way to preserve our culture and tradition and a platform where we can show our traditional attires and promote our talents. It brings harmony and brotherhood among various tribes of the state,” he said.

N Ibochouba thanked the organisers to be invited as the guest of honour of the event and wished the organisers and the people a grand success in their future endeavors.
