Children playing football find grenade at residence of intending candidate
A hand grenade and four AK-47 rounds were found at the residence of one intending candidate of Hiyanglam assembly constituency

Miscreants allegedly left a hand grenade and four AK-47 rounds at the residence of one intending candidate of Hiyanglam assembly constituency, Nongmaithem Sanjoy of Sekmaijin Khunou, at around 3.15 pm on Monday, police sources said.
The bomb and the rounds were found by a group of children who happened to be playing football, the sources said.
As per police, the children, who did not know that it was a bomb, had taken the 36-HE grenade back to their home. However, after finding out, the senior members brought it outside again and left the grenade at a river bank.
Hiyanglam Police Station has informed the Bomb Disposal Squad about the discovery and to take necessary action, as per police.
