In a poll-related violence, chiefs of two villages in Chakpikarong of Chandel district were brutally beaten up allegedly by NPF workers.
According to reliable sources, four unidentified miscreants came in a white Maruti Gypsy and kidnapped the chiefs of Khumbung Khunou and Tera (Ruwngchang) around 6 pm Tuesday.
When they were brought back two hours later around 8 pm, the two were found beaten up by the miscreants, the sources added.
Since the two chiefs are BJP supporters, it’s possible that the atrocities are work of NPF workers, the sources said.
According to the sources, a case has been filed at Chakpikarong Police Station under FIR No. 5(3) 2022ckgps under section 365 /326/384/34 ipc.
The two individuals have been identified as Sng Benjamin, chief of Khumbung Khunou and Nl Lunhring, chief of Ruwngchang (Tera).
