Chief Minister N Biren Singh calls for people's participation in saving Manipur's ecology

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren on Saturday extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of World Environment Day 2022, and wished happiness, peace and prosperity to all.

In his message, the chief minister said, "The state government will take strong measures to give new life to the destroyed forest tracts and to prevent further destruction”.

Biren mentioned the various environmental emergencies faced by the state with the loss of forest areas and environmental degradation owing to human interference.

He urged the people of the state to extend support and to participate in the restoration and preservation of the ecological balance of Manipur for the wellbeing of the future generations.

“With the theme for the year ‘Only One Earth’, the celebration calls for collective and transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our planet,” he stated.

The chief minister stated that the World Environment Day 2022, observed annually on June 5 since 1974 by millions of people across the world, is the largest global platform for environment public outreach.
