In a first in Manipur, a guest house is being constructed for "tribal chiefs" in the state. Chief Minister N Biren Singh, accompanied by other ministers and officials, inspected the construction of the guest house in Imphal on Saturday.

Biren said the Tribal Chiefs Guest House will accommodate tribal leaders who face accommodation problems during Mera Chaoren Houba and other traditional festivals of the state.
"Pleased to inspect the ongoing construction of the Tribal Chiefs’ Guest House today. The guest house will accommodate the tribal leaders who used to face accommodation problems during Mera Chaoren Houba and other traditional festivals," Biren tweeted on Saturday.
