The Silver Jubilee Celebration of Changnhe Sanuw Emhar Ruh (CSER) of Heibunglok Village, Chandel was held on Friday under the theme ‘Culture Bring Unity’ at the village school compound.
The celebration was held with the objective of inviting all the women of the village who are married to other communities and other villagers, for a love-feast known as ‘Leenchang Themhin’ in Monsang culture.
The programme commenced with unveiling by pastor of Changnhe Baptist Church (CBC) Upa W Molali, followed by a prayer led by assistant pastor of CBC Sapa Ng Bengamshing. Speaking on the occasion, village chief Upa Ts Warnu extended appreciation to the committee for the initiative and giving moral support to women.
The event was attended by chairperson of Manipur State Commission for Women and Sanuw Th Tiningpham Monsangas the chief guest and entrepreneur Th Tiberrose Monsang as the guest of honour.
In the village-wide get-together, silver jubilee souvenirs were distributed followed by cultural programmes including Monsang folksong, and jubilee feast.
