A release by PRO IGAR (South) stated that the tree plantation drive was conducted with an aim to control global warming, make environment pollution free and spread awareness on the importance of a clean environment.

As part of the initiative, saplings of various types of trees were planted. The villagers were also educated about the importance of trees in maintaining the ecological equilibrium, it added.
