TA and Hills Minister Vungzagin Valte attended the certificate distribution ceremony held for the Scheduled Tribe Paramedical trainees who successfully completed different paramedical courses from Escent Institute of Paramedical Sciences and Skill Development, Imphal at Conference Hall, TA and Hills Department on Saturday.
The trainees were sponsored by the Directorate of Tribal Affairs and Hills, Manipur. The courses include Bachelors of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology (B.Sc. MLT), Bachelor of Science in Radio-Imaging Technology (B.Sc. RIT) and diploma courses.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Valte said that Manipur is marching ahead in the field of medical sciences and its allied activities through the numerous initiatives taken up by the government to boost the health sector of the state. “Training of the tribal communities will help in providing health services to the far flung tribal areas” he added.
Urging the trainees to march ahead and serve the people in need, the minister also encourages them to utilise the knowledge and skills acquired through this training to uplift humanity wherever they are.
Expressing his appreciation for imparting quality education and training to the students, the minister said Escent Institute of Paramedical Sciences and Skill Development is a valuable asset for the people of Manipur.
He also released a souvenir published by the institute under the sponsorship of TA and Hills. Additional chief secretary TA and Hills Letkhogin Haokip; director C Arthur Worchuiyo; additional secretary Kengoo Zuringla; additional secretary DK Thangboi; deputy secretary Kamala Devi and under secretary A Ransing attended the event as guests of honour, president and special invitees respectively.
