The MGNREGA director and secretary have assured to release the pending MGNREGA funds soon, Manipur State Panchayat Parishad (MSPP) president Md Abdul Latif said.
The MSPP leader stated in a release on Tuesday that the representatives of MSPP had submitted memorandums to the Prime Minister Office (PMO), Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (RD and PR) Union minister and the state ministers which include the demand for the disbursement of MGNREGA funds.
It stated that the representatives of MSPP met with the MGNREGA director and secretary at the Krishi Bhavan, during which the MGNREGA director and secretary assured to address the demands of the MSPP.
It may be mentioned that the MSPP had been demanding the government to release the liabilities funds of MGNREGA for the financial year 2021-2022, conduct the 6th general panchayat election and give power to the panchayat, it added.
