A mass awareness campaign on wiping out poppy cultivation was held at Chassad village community hall in Kamjong district on Wednesday.
The campaign was organised by the Kuki Students' Organization, Kamjong district.
At the event, director, Holistic Development, Kuki Baptist Convention Dr Seilenkap Haokip spoke on ‘Health and religion perspective of poppy cultivation’ while Advocate, Justice Foundation (VIS) Chamber Thanglenmang Haokip gave a speech on ‘Legal Perspective of poppy cultivation.’
Singers Kelvyn Minlal and Thethem Vaiphei enthralled the crowd with their melodious songs during the campaign. General secretary, Eastern Kuki Chiefs' Association Seimang Haokip also shared his views on the campaign.
KSO Kamjong district expressed heartfelt gratitude to the public for their cooperation in making the mass campaign a grand success.
