Cable cars will be introduced in Manipur: CM N Biren Singh

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said to attract tourists in the state a project with a cost of around Rs126 crore in and around Loktak lake will be developed. Rs 600 crore Lamphelpat Rejuvenation Project and around Rs 36 crore for beautification of water bodies in Waithou are being developed.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Sunday announced that cable cars will be introduced at Ibudhou Marjing Hill for the first time in the state, while attending the inauguration of BABINA Hospital held at Sajiwa Jail Road, Khabeisoi, Imphal East.  

Speaking as chief guest of the function, N Biren Singh stated that Manipur is one of the pioneer states in Northeast India towards providing best medical facilities to the people.

He added that to attract tourists in the state a project with a cost of around Rs126 crore in and around Loktak lake will be developed. Rs 600 crore Lamphelpat Rejuvenation Project and around Rs 36 crore for beautification of water bodies in Waithou are being developed, he said.

Concrete road construction in greater Imphal has begun with the funding of around Rs 3500 crore, he added. He maintained that the BJP-led government has taken up various initiatives in the health sector such as CHMT, CM Health for All etc which have benefited lakhs of needy and poor people of the state.

Mentioning about initiatives of the government for the Internally Displaced People (IDP), he stated that under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana around 6061 people residing at relief camps have been provided skilled training.

Among them, around 2,500 are under the process of being provided jobs. Under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, around Rs 700 crore will be provided by the banks to the MSMEs of the state. He appreciated and encouraged Babina Group for providing humane service to the people and creating job opportunities to thousands of people.

During the programme, Health Minister Sapam Ranjan Singh praised the private players for filling the gap which the government had left during the time of health crisis management in the state. It has helped the government and the people of Manipur specially during the time of COVID-19 in the state. And the government acknowledged their efforts in doing so, he added.

He further emphasized the importance of CMHT, which is the brainchild of the chief minister, to help the needy people of the state.

The programme was attended by MLA, Wangkhei AC Th Arunkumar Singh, chairman and managing director, Babina Group Th  Dhabali Singh, senior official of NEDFi, Staff and well-wishers of Babina Group.
