In a bid to provide space through which global Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) can contribute in a structured and sustained manner to the global unification, a seminar on C20 will be organised at Sangai Conference Hall, Hotel Imphal on Saturday.
Resident Spiritual Mentor of Chinmaya Mission Chennai, Swami Mitrananda told media at Shiroi Hall, Hotel Imphal on Friday that the theme of India’s G20 presidency “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” or “One Earth, One Family, One Future” is drawn from the ancient Sanskrit text of Maha Upanishad.
As a part of the G20, 15 seminars will be organised under C20 which is a platform for Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) around the world to bring forth a non-government and non-business voice to G20, he added.
He said among the 15 seminars, five will be conducted at north eastern states including Manipur.
Group of twenty (G20) included 19 countries (Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkiye, United Kingdom and United States and the European Union. The G20 members represent around 85 per cent of the global GDP, over 75 per cent of the global trade and about two-thirds of the world population.
Mitrananda further said the conference will explore four sub themes including Education; Ecology; Geopolitics and Defence and Dharma.
Chairman, Loktak Development Authority (LDA), M Asnikumar Singh also attended the press conference.
