BTCC appoints president, secretary for 2022-24

BTCC former president V Shekhar was re-elected as president while Surrender Singh Patheja was elected as the new secretary of BTCC.

The Border Trade and Chamber of Commerce (BTCC), Moreh appointed its president and secretary for the term 2022-24 on Sunday after conducting an election of the body at its office in Moreh, Tengnoupal district.

BTCC former president V Shekhar was re-elected as president while Surrender Singh Patheja was elected as the new secretary of BTCC.

As many as above 200 traders and shopkeepers from different communities in Moreh town attended the election.

Speaking to media persons, V Shekhar said that he will work for the development of trade and commerce in Moreh town in particular and Manipur in general.

Expressing gratitude to all the BTCC members for re-electing him as president of the body, he said that the BTCC is able to advance at this present stage because of the contribution and support from the public.

Appealing to all its members and public to continue supporting BTCC, Shekhar promised, “I will work for the development of trade and commerce in Moreh and Manipur and will do whatever I can for the welfare of the public.”

Shekhar is the only person who established educational institutions across Moreh commercial town to give free education to children including free school uniforms and textbooks.
