Bring ‘home isolation patients’ to COVID Care Centres if family has no required amenities: CM Biren tells DCs

The Manipur CM also stressed on the need to cross-check COVID negative reports for those entering the state from different entry points.

Cautioning that everybody should be very careful now as the new strain of COVID-19 is stated to be airborne, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh asked the deputy commissioners (DC) of different districts to properly check whether the home isolation patients are kept isolated from other family members.

In a video conference with the DCs on COVID-19 situation on Tuesday, CM Biren instructed the DCs to bring the ‘home isolation patients’ to COVID Care Centres if the officials visiting them are not convinced that the family has required amenities like separate toilets and rooms for home isolation.

During the conference, CM Biren enquired the DCs about the number of active cases, home isolation patients, vaccinations and preparations going on for re-activation of COVID Care Centres, etc. He instructed them to be prepared for the possible situation coming in the next two months.

CM Biren also asked them to submit detailed reports on their activities, preparations and inadequacies to the principal secretary (Health), Government of Manipur with a copy to the Chief Minister’s Office.

The chief minister further directed the DCs to expedite formation of COVID Awareness cum Enforcement Committees of different assembly constituencies and take up required action to re-activate COVID Care Centres at the earliest.

Biren also stressed on the need to cross-check COVID negative reports for those entering the state from different entry points. The chief minister also instructed the DCs to intensify vaccination, raise more awareness and penalise SoP violators stringently.
