A man was allegedly killed by his 14-year-old son with a sword at Songlolgenglok Jungle of T Gojang village under Saikul police station in Kangpokpi district on Monday, sources said.
The victim has been identified as one Jangkhomang Khongsai, 40, son of late Ngamkholet Khongsai from T Gojang Village under Saikul police station.
According to sources, Jangkhomang was last seen at around 9 am with his minor son along with a sword each, going to Songlolgenlok Jungle to cut grasses. At around 1 pm, his son returned home alone. When asked about the whereabouts of his father, the son answered that he had slashed and killed his father and covered the body with dried grasses and bushes, it sources said.
According to police, upon receiving information about the incident at around 11 pm, the Saikul police filed a case regarding the incident. The body was kept untouched until the State Forensic Science Laboratory team and the police team reached the site at around 11 am and conducted an investigation, it added.
Police informed that after observing necessary formalities, the body was sent for post-mortem at RIMS mortuary. The body was received by the family after the post-mortem, it added. Meanwhile, the 14 year-old boy was produced at the JJB Kangpokpi and had been kept at Observation Home at Takyel, it mentioned.
